This website is largely based around a private collection of old photographs and picture postcards of the town of Taunton, Somerset, in the west of England. The vast majority of pictures date from between 1898 and the end of World War II. Most images on display are currently from the Edwardian period. New scans of historic pictures of Taunton are added on a regular basis, as and when they are acquired, or sent in by visitors to the site.
